Raananah S Katz, MD FACS has been practicing ophthalmology in Plantation, Florida since 1981. She specializes in cataract and lens implant surgery, laser vision correction, glaucoma treatment, and dry eye disorders.
Dr. Raananah Katz graduated from Barnard College of Columbia University receiving an A.B. degree. She attended Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York receiving the Coyne Ophthalmology Scholarship. Dr Katz completed her internship at the Jacobi/Albert Einstein Hospitals and returned to Florida where she completed her residency and fellowship training at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute located in Miami. Throughout her career she has published numerous articles and edited books in ophthalmology. She was selected as a New York Times "Super Doc" in 2008.
Dr. Raananah Katz is currently a voluntary Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology and serves as an associate examiner for the American Board of Ophthalmology. She is the past president of the Miami Ophthalmologic Society, a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a fellow of the American College of Eye Surgeons, a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and a member of the Broward County Ophthalmologic Society and Dade County Medical Association.
In the past Dr. Raananah Katz has been invited to be a guest surgeon with ORBIS, teaching cataract surgery to the regional surgeons in China, Bulgaria and the Dominican Republic.
